Michele Sparks
Michele has 25 years of experience and co-founded Paradigm Actuaries in 2005. She specializes in the property and casualty insurance industry.
She began her career with Ernst & Young and executed multiple initiatives including the development and presentation of product marketing information and supervised the design and construction of actuarial databases and models.
Michele has been on the boards and in financial positions at multiple Chicago-based non-profits.

Dan Schlemmer
Dan joined Paradigm in 2015 and is a credentialed actuary specializing in analytics-based insight for P/C insurance problems. Dan’s strategic focus is on using data to drive decisions in insurance that go beyond the usual. He uses his unique actuarial and investment experiences to bridge the gap between actuarial numbers and financial results.
Dan’s background includes data management and creating financial/economic models as well as providing investment analysis, equity research and corporate development.

Katherine Reitz
After a 20 year career in database development and analytics outside the insurance industry, Katherine joined Paradigm in 2018. Katherine has extensive experience developing databases and analytics to maximize profitability by calculating operational throughput performance metrics and regulating quality assurance metrics. She uses these unique skills in the creation of actuarial models and the management and development of databases for Paradigm’s clients.

Karrie Fjelland
Karrie is a credentialed actuary with over 20 years of actuarial experience in the property and casualty industry. Karrie joined Paradigm in 2019. Prior to Paradigm, Karrie’s professional experience includes serving as AVP at CNA Insurance, Professional Lines Manager at Coregis and a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Ernst & Young. Her experience includes managing reserving and financial analyses for various commercial lines of business and providing pricing support for professional liability books of business.
